In 1966, Rollé began as a local hardwood supplier. Over the span of 50 years, it has grown into an international European oak distributor. Please see our timeline for some accomplishments and read more about our own sawmills across Europe. We do our utmost best to take care of nature. Rollé is PEFC certified. Meaning our products do not originate from controversial sources.
Our history
After years of collaboration between Rollé and Duclaux, an acquisition officially took place in 2022.
The Uro-Lumber site has expanded, in addition to innovations on the site and improved facilities for the staff, they have also increased from 4 to 10 kilns and have added a new closed hall of 1000 square meters.
Rollé purchased a sawnmill in Mognéville France which led to a scale-up in the activities.
Rollé begins the production of lamellas, marking another significant development in its history.
Rollé proudly introduces its unique quality standards, surpassing traditional French norms to guarantee superior quality for our customers. Embracing innovation, we now standardize fixed lengths and widths, setting a new benchmark in the industry.
Ton and Deevid van den Hurk take over Rollé, continuing its legacy with their father still involved in the day-to-day activities.
After completely renovating the terrain in Zjytomyr. Rollé's Ukrainian yard becomes fully operational in 2008, contributing to the international supply chain and optimizing the operations.
Rollé Purchased Ageorges in France and starts an extra drying and cutting production, leading to further enlargement.
A fire destroys a total of eight kilns and most part of the stock from Rollé. This marks a new beginning for Rollé with reconstruction and innovation in drying technologies and further business expansion.
Rollé starts the Ar-Bois sawmill with their partner Ageorges. Later the Ar-Bois Commercial was founded to supply the regional businesses.
Rollé Purchased Chêne de France and starts a extra drying production, leading to further build-up of the company.
Antoon van den Hurk takes over Rollé through a management buyout, shifting the focus to international markets.
Due to the growth that Rollé experienced, Rollé needed to expand. In the following years, 8 drying rooms, 3 open warehouses, and 1 closed warehouse were added.
Antoon van den Hurk becomes the first employee, signaling the start of the company's expansion.
Rollé is founded as a local hardwood supplier, marking the beginning of its journey towards becoming an international European oak supplier.
PEFC
Our products are tended with care, as is the environment Rollé works in. Rollé is PEFC certified. Meaning our products do not originate from controversial sources. Furthermore our drying chambers in the Netherlands are powered by a CHP-unit and surplus energy is delivered back to the Dutch energy suppliers. Also in France and Ukraine we’re proud to say we do not consume unnecessary energy.
